Sophia Cheng

Sophia Cheng is the Chief Investment Officer of Cathay Financial Holdings and Chair of the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC). With 30 years of experience in research and investment, she previously served as Chairman and Head of Research at Merrill Lynch Taiwan. Sophia is highly regarded for her leadership in financial sector research and policy development, and for promoting Corporate Sustainability and Responsible Investment in Taiwan. She serves as Vice Chair of the Taiwan Impact Investment Association and sits on several national committees. Sophia holds a Master’s in Finance and Banking from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor’s in Atmospheric Sciences from National Taiwan University.
