Introduction
SEWF (“us”, “we”, or “our”) takes your privacy seriously. We recommend that you carefully read this statement. In our processing, we comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That means that:

- We aim to limit our collection of personal data to that which is required for legitimate purposes;

Data Controller
The Data Controller is SEWF C.I.C.
SEWF does not have a DPO. SEWF’s Managing Director and Administrator are responsible for the implementation of this policy. Any questions about this policy should be directed to enquiries@sewfonline.com
Information we collect
The information we request is dependent on the service you receive. We may collect or receive personal information for a number of purposes connected to our operations which may include the following:
- Contact: Through phone, mail, email and web forms
- People and Planet First Verification administration through service providers and network partners
- Newsletters
- Compiling and analysing statistics for website improvement (including the People and Planet First website)
- To offer personalised services
- To share data with a third party for administrative and legitimate operational purposes
We collect information for administrative and operational purposes which includes informing existing and potential contacts of events, consultancy services, resources, research and news that might be of interest. For example, when you register to attend our events, receive consultancy support or sign up for our mailing list, we will ask for personal and business information, such as your name, company name, email address and telephone number.
How we collect your information
We collect your information when you provide it to us, for example, by contacting us regarding our services, filling in our webforms or by signing up for our newsletter or by giving us your business card. SEWF may receive personal information from various partners such as event co-hosts, People and Planet First partners and service providers that perform services on our behalf, including communications providers, payment providers or processors, security and verification providers and marketing/advertising vendors.
SEWF may also collect information automatically from your device or browser through cookies and other similar technologies.
How we use information we collect
We use the information we collect from all our services for administrative and legitimate business purposes including letting you know about upcoming events, consultancy services, resources, research and news and to provide, maintain, protect and improve our services, to develop new ones and to protect SEWF.
When you contact SEWF, we may keep a record of your communication to help administrative and legitimate business purposes.
We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those that are set out in this Privacy Policy.
Disclosure of your information
We will not sell, loan, lease or trade your personal data to any third parties.
We may share personal information with other companies and individuals within SEWF, and with selected third parties such as event hosts, business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter with them or you.
We may share your information with analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site and services.
We may disclose your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or to protect the rights and property of SEWF.
Data retention
We retain your information for no longer than is necessary, considering any legal obligations we have and our legitimate interests as a business. Information used to provide People and Planet First Services may be retained longer than your application and verification period and processed in accordance with this Policy.
Information security
SEWF aims to protect your data from unauthorised access or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction using appropriate technical and organisational measures.
This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites connected by links on our website. We cannot guarantee that these third parties handle your personal data in a secure way. We recommend you read the privacy statements of these websites prior to making use of these websites. When you access these third-party services, you do so at your own risk.
People and Planet First
SEWF is the steward of People and Planet First and therefore the Data Controller. The SEWF Privacy Policy covers People and Planet First with relevant partners including Official Partners involved in verification.
The SEWF policy does not apply to the practices of third parties who you may choose to share information with when you use or join the People and Planet First directory. This includes People and Planet First verified enterprises that sell through the Good Market community marketplace and People and Planet First network partners who collect additional details about their members. Please note that the collection and use of your information by these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies and terms. Although SEWF works with partners with shared values, we have no control over and assume no liability for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products, or services.
SEWF may collect and receive the following categories of personal information relating to People and Planet First:
- Personal account information: SEWF may collect and receive personal information from our service providers, network partners and our promotional and marketing partners.
- Enterprise information: SEWF may collect and receive your enterprise information from service providers, network, and promotional and marketing partners. If you apply for and are approved as a People and Planet First verified enterprise, the content you have shared with service providers and partners will appear publicly in the People and Planet First network marketplace as detailed in the Good Market privacy policy.
- Messages information: If you contact an enterprise listed in the People and Planet First directory, SEWF is not responsible for any private information shared or collected in your communication.
- Activity and service usage information: SEWF may collect information about interactions with the People and Planet First directory, including access times, searches and actions.
- Location information: SEWF may receive your location information from service providers or network partners.
SEWF is not liable for any unauthorised disclosure of such personal or financial information.
Your rights
You have the following rights:
- Right to object: you may object to the processing of your data. We comply with this unless there are justified grounds for processing.
- You have the right to know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it and how long it will be retained for.
- Right of access: You have the right to access your personal data that is known to us.
- Right to rectification: you have the right to supplement, correct, have deleted or blocked your personal data whenever you wish.
- If you give us your consent to process your data, you have the right to revoke that consent and to have your personal data deleted.
- Right to transfer your data: you have the right to request all your personal data from the controller and transfer it in its entirety to another controller.
