SEWF Social Procurement Fringe Day

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, join the SEWF Social Procurement Fringe Day to learn and share how to leverage your existing purchasing for good.

SAP, SK Group and SEWF are co-hosting the largest ever gathering on social procurement in Asia. Corporate businesses, government departments and agencies, academic institutions, social enterprise support agencies and other key partners will come together in Taipei to work collectively on expanding the future of social procurement in the ASEAN regional and internationally.

PEOPLE First: From CUHK Research to Social Innovation for Mental Wellbeing

This cross-border session brings together three applied research pioneers from CUHK and Taiwan-based academics and social innovators to explore people-centred social innovations advancing mental wellbeing. CUHK speakers will share interdisciplinary initiatives spanning tech-assisted autism care, creative media literacy for youth and community-driven ADHD support. Reflecting the SEWF25 theme – PEOPLE, these cases highlight CUHK’s commitment to knowledge transfer and youth empowerment. Taiwan speakers will showcase impactful work supporting youth and carers, fostering dialogue on co-creating a mentally healthier society across borders through academic collaboration and social innovation.

Teamwork for social enterprises: Collaboration practices and tools for modern work challenges

Atlassian, an expert in modern teamwork, will share strategies, tools and practices to help social enterprises solve for the most common teamwork, collaboration and efficiency challenges. Social enterprises are often some of the most innovative teams in the social sector. This workshop will help them bring that innovation to their team’s ways of working. We will help social enterprise leaders and professionals identify common teamwork challenges and equip them with the practices and tools needed to work more efficiently and effectively towards their missions.

How do we build sustainable ecosystems and inclusive economies for LGBTQ+ social entrepreneurs?

This half-day event creates intentional space for LGBTQ+ social entrepreneurs, creatives, funders and allies to connect, collaborate and co-create. Join us for a dynamic line-up starting with a fishbowl conversation featuring the founder of The Queer Livelihoods Project (QLP) and other LGBTQ+ social entrepreneurs as they share their lived experiences along with real world insights on how to create your own LGBTQ+ led social enterprise. The afternoon continues with a structured workshop and working group session, where participants will collectively explore strategies for building inclusive economies and sustainable queer-led enterprises. We’ll close with a networking reception that begins at 17:00 to deepen connections and celebrate queer leadership in social enterprise.

Hosted by The Queer Livelihoods Project and in partnership with Equality Taiwan Campaign, the organisation that helped make Taiwan the first in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage and Koppa – The LGBTI+ Economic Power Lab, a global hub advancing economic equity for LGBTI+ communities through innovation and systems change.

This session features CUHK academics who have transformed academic knowledge into public engagement and social innovation — from salt-tolerant soybeans and green enzyme technologies to cultural reflections on waste. Joining them are Taiwan-based social innovators who will share their impactful work in design and agriculture to advance environmental sustainability. Aligned with the SEWF25 theme – PLANET, this cross-disciplinary dialogue explores how sustainability can emerge at the intersection of biotechnology, cultural studies and eco- social entrepreneurship, inspiring new collaborations across academia, social enterprises and the green economy.

Empowering Indigenous futures: From First Nations Economics in Australia to Tagbanua Indigenous Tribe in Palawan (Philippines) to Seediq tribes in Taiwan

The Living Bamboo Architecture project in Palawan empowers the Tagbanua tribe through eco-tourism, combining green energy, clean water and education to protect culture and marine ecosystems. This interactive fringe event, hosted by the Impact Hub Network and Impact Hub Asia Pacific, brings together leaders from intermediaries and entrepreneur support organisations (ESOs) who are designing and delivering incubation, acceleration programes, or else enterprise support initiatives. Through case-based learning and interactive workshops, we’ll unpack what the key ingredients are to a support program work - and how we can better communicate our impact to attract more funders or partners to be engaged.
