Hsiu Peng Lin

Hsiu Peng Lin is a community organiser and social innovator based in Yuanli Township, Miaoli County, a rural area of Taiwan. Hsiu Peng has co-founded initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, sustainable agriculture and cultural education through creative entrepreneurship. Her work bridges cultural heritage and civic engagement, enabling communities to co-create sustainable and inclusive futures. One key effort revitalises traditional rush-weaving to foster economic autonomy among older women. Lin’s place-based approach shows how grassroots action and participatory practice can build local resilience, preserve cultural identity and foster social enterprise rooted in the everyday lives of rural communities.
