Audrey Tang joins SEWF25 speaker line-up in Taipei

Audrey Tang, Taiwan’s former Digital Minister and a TIME100 “Most Influential People in AI” honouree, will speak at SEWF25, taking place 29–30 October 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan.

A globally recognised leader in civic tech and digital democracy, Tang has redefined how governments listen, collaborate and innovate. From co-founding the open-source movement g0v (gov-zero) to helping shape Taiwan’s acclaimed COVID-19 response, her work demonstrates the power of technology to empower communities and build trust.

Tang served as Taiwan’s first Digital Minister from 2016 to 2024, becoming the world’s first nonbinary cabinet minister. Her leadership introduced participatory platforms like vTaiwan and Join.gov.tw, advancing new approaches to AI ethics rooted in openness, inclusion and plurality.
