Rowan comes from the Wondunna Clan of the Badtjala people Traditional Owners of K’gari (Fraser Island). He worked in national parks for over 20 years becoming the Park Manager of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. In 2010, he established the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation with the support of senior Traditional Owners and the community. He has since spoken at International conferences such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Paris Agreement.
