Kahlil Baker

Kahlil Baker is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Taking Root, a not-for-profit that restores forest ecosystems by improving farmer livelihoods. Taking Root does this by connecting brands wanting to meet their climate commitments to reforestation initiatives working with smallholder farmers. Over the past decade, Kahlil has built Taking Root into an internationally acclaimed organisation, with recognition from organisations like the UN, Rainforest Alliance, and Google. He has served as an advisor for leading forest carbon standards, including Plan Vivo and the Gold Standard and was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Cross by Canada’s Governor-General.
