Frae Cairns

Frae is of Ngāti Kahu and Te Aupoūri descent. She is passionate about social equity and delivering impact through procurement activity to enable greater opportunities for Māori and Pasifika. Her previous experience in Auckland Council’s procurement team has helped her to begin to redefine the meaning of ‘value’ to procurers by demonstrating the socio-economic and environmental benefits that can be achieved. This led to her supporting Auckland Council to be the first organisation in New Zealand to set targets for spend with Māori, Pasifika & Social Enterprises. As Capability Manager for Amotai, her current role is to support buying organisations to develop their supplier diversity practice to create meaningful opportunities and genuine relationships with Māori and Pasifika businesses.
