SEWF 2021: Save the Dates

by Helen Harvey / February 2021

SEWF 2021: Co-hosted by Common Good Solutions, Nova Scotia, Canada

In 2021, we are partnering with Common Good Solutions in Nova Scotia as event co-host to shine a spotlight on Canada, while also addressing priorities and issues for social enterprises around the world. Key themes will include climate change, young people, social procurement, economic recovery and indigenous social enterprises.

We will be kicking off our new annual event programme with the SEWF Policy Forum on 27-28 April. It will be a fully digital event open to all, during which we will launch our new Social Procurement Community of Practice so be sure to register to save the date and not miss out!

The SEWF Policy Forum will be followed by the SEWF Youth Forum on 27 September, SEWF 2021 from 28-29 September and the Rural Forum from 27-28 October. We will close the year with the SEWF Academic Forum in November. All events will be in English and French and will have digital participation with the possibility of the September/October event being hybrid blending online and in-person sessions (to be confirmed on 1st March depending on travel and gathering restrictions).

Our new event strategy recognises the ongoing and lasting impacts of COVID-19 on our community, as well as the opportunity digital presents and builds on the success and lessons learned from last year’s event and also the Community Consultation we recently undertook.

In 2021, we also plan to build the SEWF online community and increase online engagement to better support the global social enterprise movement. As part of this, we are recruiting an Online Community Engagement & Communications Manager (deadline 15th February) and will be co-hosting a series of online partner events, starting with the Buy Social Canada Symposium “Social Procurement Today and Tomorrow” on 26th April.
