Amnesty International Global Civic Space Fellowship 2025
Deadline: 6 March 2025
Amnesty International is offering a 18-month part-time fellowship for human rights defenders and activists working to protect civic space globally. Fellows will analyse current trends in civic space restrictions, investigate emerging resistance and human rights movements and convene activists to co-create a practical toolkit for defending civic space worldwide. Salary: $25,000

#TeamUp for the Great Lakes Bay Region Grants
Deadline: 14 March 2025
The Dow Championship’s #TeamUp programme provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisations in the Great Lakes Bay Region (Bay, Midland, Isabella, or Saginaw), USA. The programme offers financial support and strategic guidance to expand the reach and effectiveness of selected initiatives. More than $2.5 million to local nonprofits since its inception in 2019.

AI for Science Master’s Programme
Deadline: 21 March 2025
A fully funded one-year Master’s programme at AIMS South Africa, in partnership with Google
DeepMind. Open to African students passionate about AI, machine learning and mathematics. 

Mastercard Foundation & University of Cambridge Climate Research Fund
Deadline:  21 March 2025
The £7.7 million Mastercard Foundation and University of Cambridge Climate Resilience and Sustainability Research Fund supports research collaborations between African institutions and the University of Cambridge. The fund aims to advance research on climate resilience and sustainability through 12-month projects, with the potential for additional funding. Two grant types are available: Research Catalyst Grants of up to £20,000 and Workshop Grants of up to £50,000. Applicants should be at post-doctoral level or above or have equivalent experience.

What Design Can Do (WDCD) No Waste Challenge Accelerator
Deadline: 31 March 2025
A programme that supports entrepreneurs, designers and innovators tackling waste and promoting circular economy solutions. Selected participants receive funding, mentorship and business development support to scale their impact and bring sustainable innovations to market.

MIT Solve: Global Challenges
Deadline: 17 April 2025
MIT Solve funds social enterprises using technology to address pressing global challenges, including climate, health, learning and indigenous communities. With over $1.5 million in available funds, each selected organisation is guaranteed a minimum of $10,000.

Google DeepMind AI Master’s Scholarships
Deadline: Varies by university
Google DeepMind is committed to increasing accessibility in AI education. This scholarship programme supports underrepresented students and those with limited financial means to pursue postgraduate study in AI and AI-adjacent fields. The initiative partners with universities worldwide to foster a diverse and inclusive AI community.

Ben & Jerry’s Foundation Grants
Deadline: Rolling applications through 2025
The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation supports grassroots, community-based organisations confronting social and environmental injustice. Grants of up to $30,000 are available, with general operating support provided to selected initiatives.
