Attending SEWF23 in person? Make sure to get to the venue early to join morning coffee and networking. There are plenty of casual meeting spaces and through SEWF23 Early Access you can plan ahead and schedule meetings with fellow participants and colleagues prior to the event. The Social Enterprise Marketplace will also be open from 08:00 with over 20 stands to check out.

The climate emergency is upon us but together we can build a sustainable future for our planet. This session will spotlight young leaders in a discussion around climate change and social enterprise, as well as the importance of youth voices and their pivotal role in addressing global challenges.

The climate emergency, conflict and economic necessity continue to drive global migration. Government responses vary wildly around the world, many responding with policies that exacerbate inequality and disadvantage. With an emphasis on lived experience, this session will showcase diverse social enterprises working with migrants and refugees, focusing on the difference that can be made by local action at community level. The social enterprise response is tackling issues of safety, health and livelihoods, but how can this be scaled to meet current and future needs?

The story of social enterprise in education is uplifting and inspiring. Many academic institutions primarily used to focus on mainstream business with barely a mention of “entrepreneurship”, far less “social entrepreneurship”. At the same time, the first and second tier education systems (school and high school) were disconnected from business other than occasional work placements. Social enterprise and social entrepreneurship education are now increasingly part of primary and high school curricula and a fundamental part of many third and higher-level education systems. This session explores the global innovation and best practice at all three levels of education with an objective of informing and inspiring further creativity towards a fairer and more sustainable society.
