SEWF22

SEWF22

28-29 September

SEWF22 happened in Brisbane, Australia and online via Hopin thanks to our 2022 Co-host White Box Enterprises! Thousands of social enterprise leaders, policymakers, philanthropists and purpose-led people joined the event to access newfound opportunities, grow their networks and get inspired by experts while being part of the world’s largest social enterprise event.

SEWF22 was a two-day hybrid event focused on “Co-Creating the Future”. Live at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and online via Hopin, we threw a spotlight on Australia this year and invited our Global Social Enterprise Community to be part of this event. (See our FAQs and Sustainability Statement). Whether you thought about starting a social enterprise, had been running one for decades or are an advocate for the sector, at SEWF22 there was something for everyone.

Expectations

SEWF 22 speaker poster
  • SEWF22 convened industry experts and speakers who work locally and inspire globally. This event provided an opportunity for our participants to share their work with a global audience.
  • Participants engaged in inspiring conversations and informative plenaries across five thought-provoking program themes: Indigenous Social Enterprise, Unusual Suspects, Excellence & Failure, Climate Solutions, Policy & Systems.
  • Participants and speakers presented solutions and were part of those working to bring change.
  • We had breakout sessions with smaller groups where people could share their big ideas and listen to unheard social enterprise stories and lessons that matter.
  • Participants had the opportunity to gain new insight, knowledge, skills and contacts to help develop and rebuild their enterprises or careers.
  • Connections with old friends were rekindled. Participants also met new people including potential investors and partners through several networking opportunities.
  • In-person participants could also add any of our fringe events (Australian Social Enterprise Youth Forum, The Funding Network Crowdfunding Event, Bus Tours and more) to their SEWF22 experience!
  • And with SEWF22 Community Hubs, social entrepreneurs all over the world were able to join the event through community gatherings, locally.
“The meaningful connections made at SEWF 2021 was like finding the various missing pieces in our organization’s jigsaw puzzle, ones which empowered us to turn theory into action, and make our purpose whole”.
⏤ Kenneth Kwok, SEWF 2021, Hong Kong
