Host a Community Hub
Vision
The SEWF Community Hub model (piloted in 2021 and 2022) provides an opportunity for groups to self-organise during SEWF’s annual flagship event, curating their own programme tailored to their community. With our Community Hub model, social enterprises and entrepreneurs have an opportunity to engage with SEWF programme content, network, share ideas and opportunities with each other locally.
Benefits of hosting a Community Hub
- Hosts get to be part of a global community of organisations that support the social enterprise movement.
- It is an opportunity to showcase impactful and innovative social enterprises in your local community and gain local support.
- Hosts can create an event that sustainably combines the benefits of face-to-face interaction with peers from a given region, with the expansive learning that comes from engaging with others on a global level.
- Hosts get to come together with the stakeholders in the ecosystem, discuss social enterprise solutions from different perspectives and feel supported by the power of a community with shared values.
Commitment
- Community Hubs will hold in person events between during SEWF event. Due to time zone differences, events will be held at different times as live content will be available from SEWF and recordings will be made available to ticket holders afterwards.
- Community Hubs host will commit to connecting local conversation with a global movement, bringing together the local social enterprise leaders.
- Everyone joining a Community Hub needs an SEWF Digital Pass, these can be bought by individuals, secured through bursaries or sponsored through your corporate relationship
Application process
- Interested Community Hub hosts will be invited to join an information session to find out more about the Community Hub model, ask questions and meet others who are interested in hosting.
- After you have been to an information session, you will be sent a short Expression of Interest form to complete.
- Interviews will be conducted.
- Selected hosts will be contacted after interviews.
- MOUs will be signed.

Top 5 things to consider when thinking about hosting a Community Hub
- Do you and/or your team have time to plan, host and deliver an in-person event?
- Is there a need to bring together your community to learn, connect and collaborate across the social enterprise ecosystem? If so, who should be in the room and how will you get them to join you?
- Everyone joining a Community Hub needs an SEWF Digital Pass, these can be bought by individuals, secured through bursaries or sponsored through your corporate relationships.
- What conversations are being had in your community, strong themes and topics for discussion?
- Have you joined a Social Enterprise World Forum event in the past? If not you may want to join this year’s event and consider hosting a Community Hub the following year.
