2021 events
Rural Forum

27-28 October 2021
Social enterprises are often the glue that keeps rural communities together yet face a range of challenges different to those in urban communities. That’s why we partnered with leading rural social enterprises in Canada, Australia, Scotland, India and elsewhere to create this event to support, connect and build the rural social enterprise community.
Do you work in rural social enterprise or rural community development? Many joined SEWF’s first-ever virtual Rural Forum to connect and learn from rural social enterprises from around the world.
As part of our 2021 events programme, we spotlighted Canada, while also addressing priorities and issues of rural social enterprise from around the world. Topics included:
- Young people in rural communities and the next generation
- Community land and land and asset ownership
- Environment and climate change
- Rural leadership
- Indigenous community-based models
- COVID-19: Impacts and opportunities
Times: There were two blocks each day to allow for live participation from around the world.
Language: The event was in English with French interpretation and closed captioning.
