Q. Will SEWF 2018 provide me with a letter of invitation to support my visa application?

A. No. However, a receipt of confirmation is issued upon ticket purchase, which can be used as supporting evidence.

Q. Is there any support with the cost of attending as we are a start-up social enterprise and the ticket price is a stretch?

Those who have attended previous SEWF events might view the £249 social enterprise ticket price as great value for 2.5 days of inspiring content and business networking opportunities, however, we are very aware that this price is challenging for smaller social enterprises.

The logistics and costs involved in staging the largest global event in the social enterprise calendar in 2018 are considerable. Planning takes two years, and venue costs alone come to £100 per person. 75% of the costs will be met by sponsorship, and 25% of the event costs will be met by delegate and exhibitor ticket purchases.

We anticipate that 40% of those attending will be assisted to do so with bursaries to reduce the cost of participation and we are working hard to generate targeted bursary funds. Currently, we have 100 bursaries for young people (16-24), and we are in dialogue with partners about bursaries for attendees from Scotland. We will promote these through our mailing channels and our partners when they come available.

We are also in dialogue with international partners to create overseas bursaries to assist international attendance. Most of these initiatives will be locally managed, but if there are any international bursary opportunities available to overseas delegates, we will promote these on the SEWF2018 website and through our promotional channels.

Q. Who will be speaking at the conference?

We have made our first speaker announcement! Keep an eye out for further speaker updates!

Q. What is the process for registering interest as a speaker at SEWF 2018?

90% of speakers for SEWF 2018 will be known to or recommended by SEWF Board Members and event partners. All speaking enquiries will be noted, along with contact details, sector info and the nature of interest, and reviewed by the program sub-group. Although you may not hear back from us for some time as programmes, themes and sub-themes are being scripted in advance of agreeing speakers.

Q. When are you publishing the full programme?

We are actively working on the programme, and we hope to release the full programme in June.

Q. What if I can't make the three days of the core programme?

We encourage you to attend for the core programme days, if possible. This will give you the full SEWF experience. If you cannot participate in the whole core programme, you will be able to transfer your ticket to a colleague. We will have some content available through our event companion app, and the significant outcomes from the Forum will be available post-event.

There are no plans to sell session or day-only tickets.

Q. Will there be any bursary/scholarship available?

Q. What are the sponsorship tiers?

We have four main sponsorship tiers; Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze as well as other opportunities throughout the week; At the Academic Symposium, the Environmental Initiative, the Ceilidh and workshop sessions.
